Gehwol Foot Salve Review, Nail Polish Canada

I was recently sent a Medicated Foot Salve product by Gehwol, from Nail Polish Canada. Gehwol is a German company that makes many foot care products for people who need a little more from there foot care regime. The salve I tested is available linked here.

I was tempted to turn down this review out of embarrassment, as I personally suffer from dry/cracked feet. My husband and I have a home with a pool, so our normal feet turn into scaly and cracked monster feet in the summer from repeated wet/dry and chlorine exposure. I decided to accept and proceed as we are exactly the people that this product is made for!

WARNING: cracked dry foot photo to follow, you've been warned!

The above and below photos are after 6 days of use, and actually show massive improvement over my starting point. As you can see on my heel, I still have staining and cracks...but the cracks are much shallower and the discomfort I had is gone.

My toe and pad area below lost all scaling and looks almost normal! I didn't have cracks on my toes, so healing of this area was much faster.

My husbands feet get so bad he sometimes experiences bleeding and peeling on his heels. He preferred no pictures since his have much more healing to go, but his improvements are even more than my own.

I have to say, when you apply this, you can actually feel it penetrating. My only complaint was the scent is a bit strong. I solved the scent issue by wearing socks to bed which also helps the moisture penetrate.

All in all, an absolutely fantastic product that we both recommend. It helped soften the skin and heal cracks. I'm still using this till I can completely heal my feet, and will update with another photo when I get there. Thanks to Gehwol!

Born Pretty Store, Nail Stamping. BP-X01

Another stamping plate review for Born Pretty Store stamping plates. This image is from plate BP-X01 and I loved the images on this plate! For my design, I created a gradient using Color Club Neon  Green and Sally Hansen Mousseline. My stamping polish is China Glaze Liquid Leather.

I loved the Brocade feel to this manicure, and the plate is from  Born Pretty Store linked here. If you check it out, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

Digital Dozen Does Birthdays, August. Pop Art Nails

Today's look is another Digital Dozen does Birthday's look inspired by our August birthday girls. Myself and Tamara Rex of Canadian Nail Fanatic linked here are both August babies. My Birthday/blogiversary was yesterday and hers is tomorrow, so this is also my celebration mani! We chose to recreate a Pop Art look inspired by art available at Pop Art UK linked here.

I used so much polish and paint for this, I won't bore you with a list...but I will tell you I created my stamping with a great stamper I was sent for review.

For my stamping, (and more importantly my decal making) I used the new XL Clear Marshmallow Silicone Jelly Stamper with Cap Nail Art Stamper & Scraper from Born Pretty Store linked here.
The reason I say more importantly is because creating the decal on the raised and clear stamper instead of a mat made it way easier to see the details as well as any errors as I went along. Having it almost lit from below was immensely helpful to my freehand work. I really recommend this clear stamper. It does the job even better than my previous clear stamper!

If you are reading this, don't forget to follow the link below to wish Tamara a Happy Birthday!

Once again, the XL Clear Marshmallow Silicone Jelly Stamper with Cap Nail Art Stamper & Scraper from Born Pretty Store is linked here. If you do check it out, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

Review BP-X03

This look was created using an awesome plate I just received from Born Pretty linked here. BP-X03. I started with a hot pink base from Color Club and sponged the tips with Ruby White Tips Smaug's Gold. I keep reaching for this gold lately, I think because fall is finally in the air here. Once that dried I stamped the pattern in Revlon Espresso. This plate worked great, and has amazing images of bows I have a plan for shortly!

I love the feel of tone on tone stamping, I wish I had seen this matte though. Once again, the plate is from  Born Pretty Store linked here. If you do check it out, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

Cirque Boudoir Swatch

I was sent this amazing grape holo called Boudoir in a review package from Nail Polish Canada. I've never tried Cirque polish before, and the formula is fantastic! This Cirque and others are available linked here.

This is two easy holo filled coats with Seche. This polish was almost a one coater, which isn't normal for most holo polishes I've tried. The colour is totally rich, and I'll definitely pull this one out repeatedly in fall.

I have a great Gehwol foot salve review coming up for Nail Polish Canada as well. I'm currently testing it on my self and the hubs and it's a great product.

Digital Dozen Does Negative Space, Day 5

This neon and cactus look was one of those manicures where everything went wrong. I dinged three fingers, wrecked and misplaced a couple of my homemade decals and had to do a number of 'fixes'. When I was done however, this was my favourite negative space look of Digital Dozen week! My varied gradient was created with a makeup wedge and neon acrylic paint. My decals I created on my silicon mat and placed on the nails. I'm glad I made five so I had spares when disaster struck.

I hope you guys like this one as much as I did.

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Does Negative Space, Day 4

Today's spin on negative space is a nautical one...and also a minimal one. I had these two really great colours I wanted to use for a nautical theme manicure, and an accent nail was the perfect way to get the negative space look onboard. The gold polish is Smaug's Gold from Ruby White Tips and the blue Blue Real also RWT. The anchor is from Moyou Sailor Collection 01.

I really don't do nautical enough in summer, and very much enjoyed these on.

Digital Dozen Does Negative Space Week, Day 3

Today I decided to try using Negative Space as part of my art instead of using it in the more traditional ways I'm terrible at!

I used a fan brush to fan royal blue and turquoise onto clear nails and stamped white waves on top from BM-504 and then created sea creature decals on my latex mat using:

My Indie Polish Zip
Color Club Neon Pink
The creature images are from Moyou Sailor Collection 01.

I really like using Negative Space as an art element, and might need to try it again soon.

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Does Negative Space, Day 2

Ok, I'm warming up now and actually enjoyed this negative space look. The holo gradient was Color Club Cloud Nine, and I stamped using BM-S104. A coat of Seche and that's it!

Easy Peasy and a little bit glam!

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Does Negative Space, Day 1

Oh Negative Space! I'm kinda terrible at Negative Space manicures, but I decided to dive right in to Digital Dozen Does Negative Space Week with a traditional taped of look. I used some triangle vinyls to create the gaps, and dotted in the corresponding colours in the negative areas.
-Sinful Colors Endless Blue
-Orly Lollipop

A pretty basic look to achieve, but Blech on so many levels! Oh well, tomorrow is much better. I'm decent at gradient French tips. Maybe I'll just stick with that!!

Cheers all,

Advanced Nail Stamping, Nail Decal

I've been wanting to work on decals again lately, so I got to work yesterday and came up with this layered look. I used BPL-026 for the base stamping on a base of a hot fuchsia from Color Club and the Cynthia Rowley is also unnamed.
Don't you hate when there is no name on polish? Sorry guys!

I created my decals right on the stampers this time and filled them and let them dry. Once dry I cut each Mandala in half and placed them on the gold based nails. I used an image from Moyou Doodles -01.

As an FYI, I discovered recently you can used Seche for decal creation, but must lift the decal and use between 8-10 minutes dry time or it will over dry. I had read a few times that quick dry won't work, so I've been testing since Seche is all I buy.

Below is the look before I added the decals. I really liked it this way, so I grabbed a picture in case I ran into decal trouble.

This is also what it looked like before matte coat. I really liked it this way as well.

Happy Thursday everyone. Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Neon Nails, Fishnet Plaid!

A simple to make 'fishnet plaid' look today. I used a striping brush and neon pink acrylic paint to create the lower plaid design and topped with Deborah Lippmann Dream A Little Dream Of Me. I then stamped BM-315's fishnet pattern on top.

I liked this, it turned out wearable and kind of unique!

Would you wear a Fishnet Plaid, or is it too busy for you?

Cheers all,
